><p>The Municipal Library started functioning in 1962 under the initiative of the Municipal Authorities with the mayor being Mr. Andreas Chatzitheocharous and having the support and collaboration of the ministry of education and the help of young local teachers.<\/p>\n<p>It functioned for some time as a periodical library and later as a permanent one. Over the years, due to the non-enrichment with new books, the inadequate space it was housed in and the continuous development of technologies it was forced to function by only offering the possibility of borrowing which let to its functioning being idle for a long time.<\/p>\n<p>The reopening and reestablishment of the managing committee took place through the establishment of a municipal library commission.
