After completion of the evaluation, Athienou Municipality has been awarded the Green City Award of Cyprus for the project &#8220;1st Pancyprian Festival of Traditional Products of Athienou &#8211; Guided tours, workshops, exhibitions&#8221; in the category &#8220;Environment and Culture&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, January 26, 2018 the Green Flag was awarded at a special formal ceremony at the Presidential Palace with the Mayor of Athienou Mr Kyriakos Kareklas to receive the &#8220;Green Flag&#8221; from the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis.<\/p>\n<p>At the ceremony, Mr. Kareklas was accompanied by the Deputy Mayor, members of the Municipal Council and members of the Cultural Committee of the Municipality, volunteers of the Festival held at Konstantinion Municipal Park of Athienou on October 15, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Athienou Municipality announces the proclamation of the 2nd Pancyprian Festival of Traditional Products of Athienou, which will take place at the same site on Sunday, October 7, 2018.
